When Dowd Studios, Inc. first opened its doors in 2003, art photography was something of interest but was not our prime target. In fact we did shoot some artistic landscapes and animals, but it never really meant much to me.
However after a near death incident, my life was changed around. It gave me a whole new perspective on our world, on good and evil, and people. I’ve been working in the fine arts since I could hold a pencil, I was able to draw just about anything but people. I think that’s why my series incorporates humans like it does.
That incident led me to create a picture called “Death to Yesterday”, a metaphor that states “don’t cry over yesterday, instead look to the future, learn from your past and make the future bright”. That photo started the “Dreams, Nightmares Fears and Fantasy” collection.
Shortly after publishing the first picture I caught the attention of “The Laker” newspaper, and it also caught the eye of a gallery in Hong Kong. 3 years later I am in my 4th volume to this series.

Dreams, Nightmares, Fears and Fantasy – An eclectic blend of art that brings people’s wildest dreams and fantasies to life and forces people to face their worst fears and nightmares. This collection contains everything from horror to beauty and has captured the eyes of those around me across the world. It balances Good and Evil. This is my signature art series that anyone can partake in.
Reality - This collection shows people at their worst, their worst sense of judgement and displaying low moral and ethic behavior. The goal is to shock people into changing their ways through visual stimulation. This series pushes the line and shows us how evil and bad we’ve become as a society.
New England Collection - Coming from New England myself, I am captivated by the architecture, the history and the landscape. This series is a growing collection of just that.
American Churches – Churches are a symbol of good, they are an icon across America. This series celebrates their symbolic contribution to this great nation depicting churches that range in beliefs and age.
American Light Houses – Light Houses have kept sea fearing men safe when coming to dock. They come in all shapes and sizes, colors and locations. They can be found on the Great Lakes, the Gulf, Atlantic and Pacific coasts. This series is a collection of the great protectors across the country.
Georgia Collection – Basked in history Georgia offers so many different sights and sounds, mixes history with good ol’ southern livin’. That’s what this series does, takes us back to a simpler place in time and honors a southern tradition stemming back to colonial times.
