ABOUT US

Dowd Studios, Inc. has been in business since 2003.  We started this studio based on the problems we saw at other studios, in an attempt to fix those problems.  One of those solutions is, We come to you, making it a more intimate experience so you are not the center of attention; and should you need any change of clothes, toys, etc. it's at your finger tips.

Working in the central Pasco area, we have worked with some of the most notable businesses and citizens in the Tampa Bay and Pasco County area. 

In 2003, we started off just doing private portraits and family

events such as: birthday parties, sporting events, christenings, confirmations, weddings and passport photos.  It wasn't until 2004 we started to go into the commercial photography sector doing pieces like:  head shots, product photography, business functions, real estate for agents, advertisements and more.  Also in 2004 we started doing web sites for our clients.  In 2006 we started to add modeling to our  repertoire. 

Our goal with every shoot is to take the best photos you have ever seen, make you as comfortable as possible and do all this within an affordable price to fit any budget.  We don't feel we need to gouge prices, we want you to get more poses for the same amount you would spend at any other studio.

To date our work has shown up in the Laker, Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times newspapers, Plant Magazine in Plant City, FL, We also have our work published in Endless Journeys coffee table photo book.

Dowd Studios is owned and operated by Jason Dowd, and co owned and run by his wife Fran Dowd.  Jason has been doing photography since 1994.  Starting off with just a simple camera, he worked hard to get the "Perfect Photo."  Jason has taken private art classes at "Village Art Studios" in Land O Lakes, FL under Becky Kempton.  He took and aced all the High School art classes he took.  In 1997, he won 1st place for his photo of Jack Murphy Stadium, San Diego, CA. in Art Fest 1997.  Jason went on to ITT Technical Institute Tampa, and furthered his education in the technical sector.  Together his art, and technical background has come to be Dowd Studios, Inc. today.
